Trump thanks UAE for helping free US hostage Danny Burch

WASHIGNTON 27 February 2019: An American oil worker who was kidnapped by Houthi rebels in 2017 in Yemen has been released, US President Donald Trump has announced.

Danny Burch “has been recovered and reunited” with his family, Trump said on Twitter, thanking the United Arab Emirates for its assistance.

In a separate tweet on Monday, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also thanked the UAE, while welcoming the recovery of US Citizen Danny Burch, said Wam.

Burch, an engineer for the Yemeni Safer oil company, was abducted in September 2017. He was kidnapped from his car by unidentified gunmen on a busy street in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa.
