UAE revises short-term visitor Visa-on-Arrival conditions

DUBAI 14 March 2018: Effective immediately, foreign nationals travelling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) under a short-term visitor visa-on-arrival will receive a single-entry visa for up to 30 days, instead of a multiple-entry visa.

Those who depart and re-enter the UAE within or after the visa validity, will be eligible for a new 30-day visa-on-arrival. The visa allows for a one-time extension thus the maximum uninterrupted period of stay is 60 days, according to immigration specialists, Fragomen.

Nationals of 19 countries, including Australia, Canada, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States, are currently eligible for this visa category.

The conditions of stay under short-term visitor visa-on-arrival were initially changed in 2016 to grant eligible visitors multiple-entry visas instead of single-entry visas. A re-entry within the visa validity (within thirty days of initial entry) did not generate a new visa.
