An Egyptian woman killed her granddaughter then asked the child’s father to put the body in a barrel and dump it in the Nile, Egyptian newspapers reported on Sunday.
The child, whose mother was divorced from her father, got sweets from the fridge at home in Cairo when she was hit by her angry grandmother.
“She banged her head against the wall because she opened the fridge without permission…when she found that the child was dead, she asked her father to put the body in a barrel and dump it in the Nile,” a police source said.
Newspapers said police arrested the child’s father, her grandmother and her step mother on murder charges.
