84,852 more vaccinated in UAE against covid

ABU DHABI 18 January 2021: The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has announced that 84,852 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine were given in the past 24 hours. The total number of doses provided stands at 1,882,778 with a rate of vaccine distribution of 19.04 doses per 100 people.

This is in line with the Ministry’s plan to provide the COVID-19 vaccine to all members of society and efforts to reach acquired immunity resulting from the vaccination, which will help reduce the number of cases and control the coronavirus.

MoHAP also announced that the country has achieved a rate of vaccine doses distribution of 25.12 doses per 100 people for medically eligible groups who meet all requirements.

3,453 new cases, 3,268 recoveries, 5 deaths

MoHAP also conducted 162,251 additional tests and announced 3,453 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 253,261.

According to the ministry, the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care, said Wam.

MoHAP also announced five deaths due to Covid-19 complications, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 745.

The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished Covid-19 patients a speedy and full recovery. It called on all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.

MoHAP also noted that an additional 3,268 individuals had fully recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 225,374.
