DIFC has jurisdiction in Viceroy dispute with Five Holdings
DUBAI 3 November 2017: Viceroy Hotels and Resorts (Viceroy) has obtained a favourable ruling from the Joint Judicial Committee of Dubai (JJC) in Viceroy’s ongoing dispute with the ultimate owner of the Viceroy Palm Jumeirah Hotel, Kabir Mulchandani, over the management and branding of the hotel.
The ruling enables Viceroy to enforce the injunction it already obtained from the DIFC Courts against Mulchandani on 22 June 2017 following his unlawful ouster of Viceroy from the hotel.
The injunction requires Mulchandani to restore Viceroy branding and management to the hotel.
Viceroy intends to take all steps necessary to enforce the DIFC Courts’ injunction, re-enter the Viceroy Palm Jumeirah Hotel and restore the Viceroy branding.
