No rent evictions in Abu Dhabi for next two months

ABU DHABI 24 March 2020: All rental property eviction cases currently underway in Abu Dhabi, along with executive procedures like imprisonment, blocking of bank accounts, seizure of vehicles, stocks and assets,have been suspended for a period of two months.

The decision, on the orders of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, was carried outby the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.

The decision also exempts cases related to alimony and labour disputes.

The move is in line with the UAE government’s keenness to support members of society and reduce their burdens during the current situation, said Wam.

NCTH exempts hotel under its management from fees

The National Corporation for Tourism & Hotels (NCTH), announced that owners of the hotels under its management will be exempted from all management fees and other expenses for three months, as part of its support for the country’s precautionary and preventive efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus, Covid-19.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Chairman of NCTH, said:”This decision follows an earlier move to exempt tenants of retail shops and restaurants at NCTH-owned hotels from rents for three months.”

Emaar Group adopts work-from-home for employees

DUBAI: Emaar Group announced it has adopted a work-from-home policy for its employees effective Monday, 23rd March.
